What Abstap is
Abstap is an independent statistics site that tracks Major League Baseball ball-strike challenges. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Major League Baseball or any team. The statistics are derived from the public MLB Stats API and are offered for informational and educational purposes only. See our methodology for how the numbers are produced.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to disrupt or overload the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or access it through automated means that place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Scrape or bulk-copy the site to republish it wholesale or pass it off as your own.
Reasonable, attributed citation of individual figures is welcome. See the press & data page for how to cite Abstap and how to request a specific data cut.
Accuracy and availability
We work to keep Abstap accurate and up to date, but the data depends on a third-party feed and on metrics we compute, some of which are approximations described on the methodology page. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, complete, or continuously available, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.
Intellectual property
The Abstap name, logo, original written content, and the design of the site belong to Abstap. Major League Baseball marks, team names, and team logos are the property of their respective owners and appear here for identification and commentary only. The underlying game data originates from the MLB Stats API and remains subject to MLB's own terms.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Abstap is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Abstap and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Abstap after a change means you accept the updated terms.
